Happy Valentine’s Day to all the lovers out there!
Whether you’re married, dating, or single, I think you can enjoy Valentine’s Day. It’s a fun day of love and chocolate. While flowers and candy are the typical gifts of choice, some romancers choose to forego these for precious metals.
Gold and silver bracelets and necklaces are attractive gifts, of course, but this year consider expanding your precious metals pieces with some of the following ideas:
Are you and your loved one pizza aficionados who also need a ring to cement your upcoming nuptials? It looks like one major restaurant chain has you covered. Apparently, you have the opportunity to purchase a 22 karat gold ring in the shape of a pizza slice, bejeweled with diamonds. If the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, I’m sure the way to a woman’s is through food inspired gold jewelry.
Another way to celebrate this lover’s holiday is through the gift of gab and gold. The Chinese mobile messaging app, Tencent, allows users to gift one another gold for the first time this Valentine’s Day. The app is utilized by over 800 million users, monthly, and on February 14th, the company is testing the ability to buy and send virtual grams of gold from one user to another. That’s an app I’d like to have in my rotation.
If the yellow metal isn’t your preference, the introduction of a largely unknown platinum group metal (PMG) might suit your fancy. Iridium, similar to palladium and platinum, is a silver metal with significant value and unique characteristics that make it an excellent gift option. Its density and hardness make it virtually impossible to damage, and its price is typically closest to palladium. Rhodium is a sister to iridium and makes another wonderful investment option (oh, and it’s on sale this week).
If you choose to gift flowers, chocolate, precious metals, or good ol’ fashion affection and quality time, we wish you a very happy Valentine’s Day!
Don’t forget the 4th release in the Norse Gods Series is here: Freya, the Goddess of Love, is a beautiful testament to love and a striking addition to your silver bullion portfolio.
