Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Provident Metals is please to announce the release of the 4th design in the Norse Gods Series of colorized silver rounds – Freya, the Goddess of Love. And to sweeten this release, we plan to give one away. Read on to learn how to win…
Freya, wife of Odr, is perhaps the best known Norse goddess. In Norse mythology, Freya symbolizes beauty, love, fertility, and sexuality. Freya is infamous for obtaining whatever her heart desires by enticing the men in her life- be they gods, giants, or dwarves.
The 4th Norse God design features Freya in a cat-drawn chariot. While perhaps not the most efficient form of transportation, cats symbolize femininity and power. Throughout history, we see instances of cat worship, as they are associated with power, cleverness, and independence- three attributes many women embody.
The field of this colorized round displays a brilliant blue sky with pillowy clouds. The golden chariot is an eye catching feature next to the silver goddess and her guides.
Like the previous rounds in this series, the reverse features a Valkyrie- the leader of whom is Freya. The Valkyrie are the “Choosers of the Slain,” (as is noted in the field) who determine where perished warriors spend their afterlife.
This Provident exclusive, Colorized Freya 1 oz Silver Round is edge numbered and ships in a plastic capsule in a velour lined box. Each coin is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
