Completing the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse series, the Pale Horse of Death NGC-graded rounds have arrived in our warehouse—in both antiqued and proof finishes with grades of GEM, 69, and 70. Have you been collecting the 4H graded rounds? It’s a unique and special opportunity, because the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation does not usually grade and encapsulate rounds produced by private mints.
While sovereign mints are held to extremely high quality standards, many private mints aren’t as focused on laser-sharp details with each strike. However, here at Provident, we want to bring you the very best in collectible bullion. So we partner with private mints and diligently work with them to bring you top-quality rounds in collections like 4H and Egyptian Gods. Because of the quality of these products, the NGC agreed to grade a select number of each design in the 4H series.
The grading process begins at NGC headquarters, where million of coins pass through the doors each year. Once coins are received by NGC, they are barcoded and vaulted until it’s time for them to be assessed by coin graders. At least two numismatists examine each individual coin. Grades are are given on scale of 1 to 70 (with 70 being a perfect coin), and based on a set of standardized rules that account for numerous factors that impact a coin’s quality and appearance.
After grading is complete, coins are taken to be encapsulated. A unique label is printed for each coin, containing the year of issue, mintmark, denomination, variety, grade, special designation, and identification number (as applicable). Coins are placed inside of a plastic core piece that holds it securely by four prongs, allowing the edge to be seen. The label is positioned in place on the plastic core, a jet of compressed air blows off dust, then matching transparent plastic shells are sealed around the inner components. The capsule preserves the quality of coin, keeping its graded state in tact.
The Four Horsemen graded rounds are all sealed in the NGC’s Edgeview® holder, which includes a UV watermark and hologram on the back of the holder as an anti-counterfeit measure. The 4H series also features a custom-designed NGC label, adding to the visual appeal of the final product.
Only a select number of NGC-graded Pale Horse rounds are available. Once they’re sold out, they’re gone forever. Don’t miss your opportunity to complete your 4H collection—get your graded Pale Horse rounds today!
