Last Month of Black Horse of Famine Sales

The Black Horse of Famine, from Provident’s Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse series, is now in its last month of sales before being discontinued. You have through January 2nd to buy Black Horse rounds. At the time of discontinuation, the third release in the 4H series will have been available for three months. We wanted to reveal the current mintage numbers, along with some sales statistics for past 4H releases.

The current mintage of the Black Horse silver round is 11,694, and the current mintage of the copper round is 9,760. Meanwhile, we’ve been watching the White Horse and Red Horse rounds’ performance on the secondary market since their discontinuation and we’re pleased to see that these rounds are consistently selling for $45 and over. This means that over the past several months, these rounds have increased substantially in value!

Another way we gauge the projected success of a product is to look at the first two days of sales, when excitement over the new release is high. In the first two days of sales, the White Horse silver round sold 3,131 pieces and the copper round sold 2,035 pieces. The Red Horse silver round sold 3,401 pieces and the copper round sold 2,345 pieces. The current Black Horse silver round sold 4,798 pieces and the copper round sold 3,276 pieces in the first two days of availability.

Though the White Horse and Red Horse BU rounds are no longer in production, you can still buy NGC certified versions of these rounds in both proof and antiqued finishes. In fact, all graded 4H rounds have reduced prices through the end of the year—up to $40 each. So now is the time to buy the items you’ve had your eye on!

We hope you’re as excited as we are for the reveal of the final design, the Pale Horse of Death!
