All metals fell on 1/25, with palladium taking the steepest plunge by far.
While copper is not tracked in this blog series, it is a precious metal of note and many of our custom round series are made in both silver and copper. This week, copper hit its highest level since June of 2015. This time last year, copper hit a near-six year low. It has since increased by about 40 percent, with most of those gains occurring over the last four months. Some copper woes came from a possible production outage at the Econdida mine in Chile, which produces 28 percent of the world’s copper. However, production in the region is expected to grow in the near future.
