Final Mintage of Pale Horse of Death

The Pale Horse of Death, from Provident’s Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse series, has concluded its run and been discontinued. The fourth and last release in the 4H series was available for three months and the series has now reached an end after a year of success.

One of the joys of collecting a limited series is the relative rarity of the rounds produced during the run. After the Pale Horse came to an end over the weekend, we crunched the numbers in order to provide you with accurate mintage information.

Final Mintage numbers for each rounds are as follows:

• The White Horse of Conquest sold 16,406 silver rounds and 14,221 copper rounds
• The Red Horse of War sold 14,216 silver rounds and 15,097 copper rounds
• The Black Horse of Famine sold 15,237 silver rounds and 12,730 copper rounds
• The Pale Horse of Death sold 15,524 silver rounds and 22,363 copper rounds

Another way we gauge the success of a series is by looking at the first two days of sale, when excitement is high for a new release. The mintage numbers during the first two days of availability are as follows:

• The White Horse of Conquest sold 3,131 silver rounds and 2,035 copper rounds
• The Red Horse of War sold 3,401 silver rounds and 2,345 copper rounds
• The Black Horse of Famine sold 4,798 silver rounds and 3,276 copper rounds
• The Pale Horse of Death sold 4,380 silver rounds and 5,473 copper rounds

Each of these rounds maintains notable performances on the secondary market, consistently selling for more than their original price.

The end of the individual 4H rounds does not mean the series is over for good. You can still buy a number of NGC-graded rounds sealed in plastic holders with a custom series labels, in both proof and antiqued finishes. Additionally, the Four Horsemen 10 oz Silver Bar will be available as long as demand remains strong.
