The Red Horse of War, from Provident’s Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse series, has concluded its run and been discontinued. The second release in the 4H series was available for three months and we’ve crunched the numbers to give you the mintage information.
The final mintage of the Red Horse silver round is 14,216, and the final mintage of the copper round is 15,097. Meanwhile, we’ve been watching the White Horse round’s performance on the secondary market since its discontinuation and we’re pleased to see that these rounds are consistently selling for $45 and over. This means that in the few short months since their discontinuation, the White Horse rounds have increased substantially in value! We very much hope to see a similar trend with the Red Horse.
Another way we gauge the projected success of a product is to look at the first two days of sales, when excitement over the new release is high. In the first two days of sales, the White Horse silver round sold 3,131 pieces and the copper round sold 2,035 pieces. The Red Horse silver round sold 3,401 pieces and the copper round sold 2,345 pieces. The brand new Black Horse silver round sold 4,798 pieces and the copper round sold 3,276 pieces in the first two days of availability.
Though the White Horse and Red Horse BU rounds are no longer in production, you can still buy NGC certified versions of these rounds in both proof and antiqued finishes. White Horse graded rounds are currently available and the Red Horse rounds will arrive at our warehouse shortly. We experienced a small production delay in our efforts to bring you the best quality products.
We’re very excited to see the continued success of this Provident original series and we hope you’re excited for what’s still in store for the 4H series! While you await the arrival of your Black Horse rounds, you can take a look at this unboxing and reaction video by Salivate Metal to get a first look at these beautifully sculpted rounds.
Thank you for supporting our 4H series! If you could pick any series of bullion rounds, what would it be?
