Amid numerous biblical and pop culture references to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Provident Metals is unveiling its own spin on the tale. This biblical group of riders originated in the Book of Revelation, and is now available as Silver and Copper Bullion.
Some believe the horsemen represent events that were occurring while this portion of the Bible was being written, others believe the horsemen will arrive during the Last Days, and still others believe the horsemen to be allegorical. The Four Horsemen appear in the Book of Revelation as seven seals are being opened before the Second Coming of Christ. Are you familiar with the horses and their riders?
The rider of the white horse is described as holding a bow and wearing a crown, with his mind set on conquest. He is also the subject of controversy because some people believe him to represent Christ, while others think he symbolizes the anti-Christ. Those who believe this horseman to be Christ, or a representative of Christ, generally share the thought that he came to conquer in the name of peace and religion.
Our silver round features the white horse rearing up with determination, and the rider holding up his bow. Underneath the horse’s belly, you’ll notice a bow and arrow privy mark.
The red horse’s rider is described as having the ability to “take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other.” This mighty horseman carries a large sword, while the horse’s color symbolizes the blood spilled on the battlefield. The biblical passage talks about nations rising against nations, creating wars that will produce famine.
Provident’s silver round features the rider charging forward on his horse. Crossed swords form a privy mark next to the coin’s inscription.
This rider is said to carry scales in his hand for measuring rations of food, which will be in short supply after the second horseman brings war. Wheat, barley, and other food staples may become scarce while the black horse rides. Supplies that can be found will be expensive, which means famine will hit the poor the hardest. Simultaneously, earthquakes will rock the world during this time.
This horseman’s round features a rider with a supernatural appearance, riding a horse that is equally as unearthly. Next to the horse’s leg, there is a smaller set of scales used as the privy mark.
This horseman was said to have the power to “kill by sword, famine, and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.” The Greek word chloros is used to describe the horse’s pale color, which translates to green in English. The greenish hue of this horse’s flesh represents sickness and decay. As the horseman rides, Hades follows close behind.
This round features a frightening horseman on an equally frightening horse. Underneath the horse’s belly, you’ll find a privy mark containing crossed scythes.
These individual horsemen rounds will be released sequentially as a Provident original series manufactured by the Golden State Mint. You’ll be able to purchase the White Horse round from March 8th to July 1st, 2017, the Red Horse round from July 1st to October 1st, 2017, the Black Horse round from October 1st, 2017 to January 1st, 2018, and the Pale Horse round from January 1st to March 31st, 2018. There is ample opportunity to collect each beautifully crafted piece. The coin series shares a common reverse that features a crest with the privy marks of each horsemen. Behind the crest, four horses rear into action.
Along with these limited edition BU silver and copper rounds, Provident Metals is also unveiling a 10 oz silver bar featuring all the horsemen. This bar will be releases alongside the Pale Horse round and will remain an ongoing item in our catalog, without a set end date.
In addition to the BU silver rounds and copper rounds, there will also be a limited quantity of NGC graded Four Horseman silver rounds in both a proof finish and an antique finish. Only 2,000 of each finish will be available in graded slabs, split between grades of GEM, 69, and 70. These rounds will be individually numbered and will feature a custom label that showcases the series shield.
The story of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse has been retold time and time again. Chances are you’ve come across various takes on the tale. This silver series captures the spirit of the original story, representing the biblical descriptions of each horseman.

An earlier statement from Provident mentioned the 10 oz bar will have a presale beginning Jan1st? Since that did not happen do you have a new date for the four horsemen 10 oz bar?
The 10 oz bar is still in development. As soon as we have a firm ship date from the mint, we will begin the pre-sale.
For those of us who only recently discovered this series, and are interested in collecting them, will there be a re-run at some point in the future?

At this point, we do not intend to re-run the series. This helps preserve the series’ collectibility. However, you can still buy graded versions of each of the horsemen at Provident. You may also be able to source horsemen rounds from the secondary market. Thanks for your interest!

Will the final mintage of the BU silver 4 Horseman series be posted on your website after the rounds are no longer available to buy?

Just a short while ago you were producing a 2oz. series of coins called the “Landmark”. I have the first 4 but not have seen another new release. Has that series ended or will you start production again? Hint Hint………each state has their own official landmark. 🙂

What is the price going to be
The silver rounds will be spot + $1.50 minimum and the copper rounds will be $0.85 minimum. The NGC slabbed silver rounds will come with a higher premium.
I see all except the Red horse silver round, have marked notify me on all but as I stated through Red horse is not showing to be able to mark only the copper version?

Are there mintage limits to these silver rounds? If so, what would that be. For example, a max number to be minted or the minting of each round to end at a specific, pre-determined date.
The mintage will be determined by demand. But each round will be available for three months only, until the next is released.
