With the New Year upon us, you may be pledging to get in shape, save money, or learn a new hobby. But have you made any stacking resolutions?
As we enter 2019, we find that spot prices are still hovering near historic lows while fundamentals in the precious metals markets are strengthening. So there’s no better time than now to evaluate your bullion collection and make some clear goals for how to capitalize on what could be some shining years ahead for metals. In that spirit, here are a few ways you can brighten your bullion collection in 2019.
Accumulate or complete a series

Maybe you’re looking for that final piece in the Queen’s Beast series to top off your collection. Or you’re excited to start something new, like our World of Dragons series. Or maybe you’ve accumulated every year of the Gold Lunar series, but never got around to picking up the 2019 release a couple of months ago. Or, like many disheartened gold and silver bugs in recent years, maybe you haven’t added to your stack at all lately because you’re waiting for a sign that precious metals markets are on the move up.
Whatever the case, now is the time to capitalize on low (but rising!) spot prices and attractive premiums to fill in any gaps in your collection!
Balance your bullion

Amassing bullion can be so fun that it’s easy to suddenly find yourself with too much of one type. But a mix of metals in a precious metals portfolio is the best way to take advantage of the unique supply and demand drivers behind each one of them.
So take advantage of the New Year’s fresh start to find ways to balance your bullion portfolio. Is your stack too silver-heavy? Then you’ll want to make a mental note to watch for specials on gold throughout the year. Have you always wanted to get in on platinum but were scared away by the price? At record low values, now is a perfect time to be on the lookout for great platinum deals.
Or maybe you find yourself with too much of one form. When you take a look at your collection, do you just see a stack of 1 oz coins? Then you might want to pick up some silver or gold bars in different weights to make your bullion portfolio more flexible and tradeable in the future.
And don’t forget: when it comes to different forms, you aren’t just limited to physical bullion that you hold in your hand. With spot prices on the move in 2019, you’ll want to earmark a portion of your precious metals portfolio to DGGold so that you can buy and sell quickly when the time is right.
Organize and store your bullion

Your responsibilities as a bullion investor aren’t over when the metals arrive at your door. Protecting your pieces from damage and the environment is just as important as ensuring you have a well-diversified portfolio. But it’s easy to fall behind on ensuring that your precious metals stay in top condition for generations to come.
Pure gold and silver are soft and easily scratched, dented, or nicked. So take time to make sure that each of your individual coins, bars, or rounds are kept in their original plastic flip. Or better yet, consider purchasing a PVS-free, Air-Tite capsule for every individual coin or bar you purchase this year.
Check to see if you’ve purchased enough individual coins or bars to start stacking them in protective tubes. And if you’re a serious collector, you can store several tubes at a time in secure monster boxes. Don’t forget to throw in a couple packets of silica gel to keep humidity levels low, and always handle your metals with soft gloves to prevent damage from your skin oils.
Sell what you don’t need

With a fresh year upon us, now is the perfect time to take a look at your collection with an unbiased eye to make room for what you really need. No matter how much you may be attached a piece, if it’s not contributing to the value of your stack, then maybe it’s time to let it go.
Consider selling back some of your bullion so that you can free up funds (and space) to potentially complete a collection or accumulate pieces that will not only bring you joy, but boost your bottom line, too.

Which leads us to…. Our January giveaway! We would love to hear about your 2019 stacking goals. Do you have specific objectives in mind for your bullion collection this year? Gold & Silver is my 2019 stacking goal !!
Please send to my mailing addresses thank you
Nice Coins
I plan on adding to my one oz.bars stack. The new
DRAGON series and 90%. Stack On!!!
500 Oz silver and 5 Oz gold by years endl
My goal is 500 Oz silver coins, at least 2 Oz of gold coins, start stacking platinum and a little copper rounds, I like the look.
Just started stacking again after a long break. Have to dig through what I have and see what condition they are in. I need to organize current coins and bars.
Queens beast and platinum.
My plan consists of staying the course, continuing to accumulate silver bullion, government issue coins et al. , and i also plan on increasing my gold holdings as well.
I just want to buy as much silver that catches my eye as I can afford. Cool stuff that doesn’t have too much of a premium.
Looking to pick up a few 10 oz bars, continue the dragons series and pick up a bit of 90%.
My goal this year is to beat last year’s goal. I’m shooting for 1 1/2 ozes of gold, 1oz of platinum, 100+ozes of silver bullion, 10 rolls of each 90% coin(s), 5 rolls of 40%, 35% and more junk foreign silver
I plan to continue to add to my stack, reach my 200 oz. Goal for silver and reach my 5 oz. Goal for gold, considering a platinum purchase, badly regretting not purchasing any palladium, Peace
It would be great if I could start with that 1/10 Oz gold eagle.
I’m partial to dragons and other wildlife on silver rounds/coins. I will not be buying the Currywurst coin from Germany.
Having been collecting silver, gold, platinum, and palladium since 2013 (mostly gold and silver), I am coming to terms that for all my effort I have only made money on my one palladium coin. And as bills pile up on my growing family, I am at a crossroads of possibly collecting in 2019 only those coins I am able to win. I just hope I won’t be selling anything I have purchased over the years.
2019 American Eagle for the graduate I know…great gift.
Lessons learned people. Over the short time amassing silver bullion i took note of the dive in prices during summer months in silver especially so I started taking advantage of this by buying queens beast 2oz and predator series 1.5 oz coins. These have been some of the best coins to pick up last summer. They hold value better than plain eagles or Canadians. In the winter months these coins rise in value by as much as ten dollars. Now gold i find the 10 g bars are best regarding cost over spot and being affordable. So……my dear Provident I ask u to sell me those bars near cost…LOL
My stacking goal is to acquire at least 1000 oz of silver rounds, too include increasing my fractional silver.
My goal is to get 500 ounces of silver and 5 ounces of gold.
I’m going for the Queens Beasts and the Dragons series.
Yes The 10 oz Griffin got scarce and was asking a high premium at one point. The 2 0z lion is still at a high premium as well as 2 oz Griffin …stock up on these if u see a sale….unfortunately the latest queens beast is fully and I’m only holding 2 to complete collection.
My stacking strategy for 2019 is to accumulate 250 oz of American Silver Eagles in order to complete my monster box project. On top of that I would like to accumulate at least 5 oz of any gold coins. Obviously getting them at the best price. If I can get this done before the end of the year I would then like to look into getting into the collector coin market. Both silver and gold.
I plan on starting to stack 20 oz a month of silver and occasionally buy 1/4 oz gold Eagles. I’m 34 and this is the greatest hobby, way to preserve your wealth and prepare for future disasters. I’ll also be able to pass these on to my kids someday.
My goal for 2019 is to add more Gold to my collection
I am new to precious metals. I’ve been collecting coins since I was a small boy, both foreign and domestic. I’ve been concentrating on what I could afford, just silver. Ive never owned a gold collectible coin, so it would be very cool.
“your comment”
My stacking technique this year is to accumulate as much as possible. And probably trade up some silver to gold this year.
I Plan on increasing my Platinum holding this year by 10 oz and 1 monster box of Silver Eagles..
Since I have no pension plan and realized that in the blink of an eye, the window to retirement is closing fast, I’m looking to expand my horizon from purchasing coins from the RCM (yes, I am CDN) into silver and gold bullion.
Thank you.
Not need to sell anything
