For thousands of years, cultures around the world had marveled at the wonders of Ancient Egypt and the stories of its legendary pharaohs. Time and again, one of the most talked-about pharaohs was King Tutankhamun, the alleged Boy King of Ancient Egypt. History of King Tut
King Tutankhamun ascended to the throne of the Egyptian Kingdom following the death of his father, the pharaoh Akhenaten. When his father died, Tut was a boy of just 8 or 9 years. During his brief reign, King Tut reversed many of the actions taken by his father. He restored the Ancient Egyptian religion, restored old monuments that had been damaged during the previous period, and moved the capital back to Thebes from his father’s city of Akhetaten. In 1922, Howard Carter found the near-intact tomb of King Tut in the Valley of The Kings outside of Thebes, Egypt.
