Provident Metals is proud to offer a new lineup of silver bullion for our investors that provides some of the latest and greatest anti-counterfeiting measures included in the design. MintID silver bullion is available with innovative NFC microchips applied directly to the silver round and silver bars from the company. MintID works with some of the most trusted private mints in the United States to produced silver rounds and silver bars that have a unique, encrypted microchip applied directly to the specimen. Now is your chance to learn about this innovative approach to anti-counterfeiting and the new MintID silver bullion available at Provident Metals.
Secure, Encrypted NFC Microchips
MintID works with ISO:9001 minting facilities to apply encrypted NFC microchips directly to their silver bullion products. This appears as a blue NFC microchip on the reverse side of its rounds and bars. The microchip is encrypted with AES-128 bit protocols, the same level of encryption used by the federal government. The tamper-proof microchip will “die” if any attempts are made to tamper with the piece. This appears immediately as a “tampered” or invalid result when you use the MintID app to scan the microchip on your silver bullion, letting you know instantly that the product has been tampered with.
Sealed, Secure Packaging
When it comes to MintID silver rounds, you can purchase them from Provident Metals individually inside of plastic flips. However, multiples of 20 per tube and 500 per box are available with secure packaging from MintID. These items are sealed at the mint, giving you added peace of mind that the silver you are buying is secured against counterfeiting. The blue MintID tubes of 20 rounds include a crypto tag that seals the tube, showing you visibly that the tube was sealed securely at the mint. That crypto tag has its own NFC microchip that you can scan with the MintID app to instantly authenticate the total bullion inside of the tube. Batches of 25 tubes are housed together in a large, blue MintID box that includes foam inserts to keep each individual tube safe during transit and storage.
Authentication Through the MintID App
Available through the Apple Store or Google Play for iOS and Android devices, respectively, the MintID app is a free download that allows you to authenticate all of the silver bullion you purchase through MintID. The app allows you to Explore as a Guest so you don’t have to provide any personal information to MintID or turn on your location services in order to authenticate your bullion purchases. To authenticate your purchase with the MintID, you need to first enable NFC settings on your device. Then, open the app and navigate to the authentication scan section. Now, all you have to do is tap the NFC microchip against the reverse of your smartphone and the individual digital profile for that piece pops up on your screen.
MintID Silver Buffalo Rounds
One of two unique silver pieces direct from MintID is the 1 oz Silver Buffalo Round. On the obverse of these silver rounds, you will find the image of the American bison. A powerful, large mammal, the bison is the largest land mammal in North America and is notable for its shaggy mane and powerful horns. The buffalo still roams portions of the American West and mountainous plains in Canada. The design here features the bison emerging from the central design element with its right horn straying into the design rocker. Inscriptions include “One Troy Ounce” and “.999+ Fine Silver.” The MintID logo is also featured on this side of the silver round.
For the reverse side of the round, you will find the blue NFC microchip in the center of the design field with the familiar NFC emblem at the center and “Scan NFC” on the chip. The background directly behind this includes the MintID logo in a repeating pattern with inscriptions around the rocker of “Tap to Scan” and “MintID.com.”
MintID Silver Bars
Another MintID option for investors is the stunning 10 oz Silver Bar. The obverse of the 10 oz Silver Bar from MintID includes the mint logo with smartphone shape, name, and NFC emblem at the top of the bar. Below this is an inscription of “10 Troy Ounces .999+ Fine Silver.” The same powerful American bison from the obverse of the silver round is found here in its full glory as it walks forward. The MintID website is listed at the bottom. Both sides of the bar include a triple-line border that is cut off at a 45-degree angle in the lower-left corner where the weight is inscribed again as a simple “10.”
The reverse side of the 10 oz Silver Bar from MintID features its own blue NFC microchip in the center. This chip has the “Scan NFC” marking on it along with the NFC emblem and the MintID logo. The entire background field features a repeating pattern of the MintID logo, with the same triple-line border you’ll find on the obverse.
MintID Packaging for Other Bullion
MintID also applies its secure packaging and encrypted microchip technology to other bullion available on the market. Most notably, you will find American Eagle Gold Coins, American Gold Buffalo Gold Coins, Australian Kangaroo Gold coins, and British Britannia Gold Coins that are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition from the respective mints, but housed in a secure MintID certificate card.
No NFC microchips have been added to the coins and each one is individually housed in a secure capsule section of the card. However, the MintID certificate card does have a built-in, encrypted NFC microchip that connects directly to a unique digital profile for that coin. You can follow the same directions through the MintID app to authenticate these coins that you can with MintID-branded products.
