The final design from the World of Dragons collection at Provident Metals is now available to purchase on our website. The six designs in the silver and copper round collection include distinctive images of dragons from different cultures around the world. From benevolent to evil, winged to serpent-like, dragons have been a part of human culture and mythology for thousands of years. Each of the releases in the World of Dragons collection is available in silver and copper, with the final release depicting The Egyptian.
The New Egyptian Design
For the final release of the World of Dragons collection, the obverse field of the 1 oz Copper and 1 oz Silver World of Dragons The Egyptian Rounds includes several depictions inspired by Ancient Egypt. The snake-like dragon in the foreground dominates the design field. This final dragon image shows a large figure with an armored body wearing a headdress typical of the pharaohs of Ancient Egypt. In the background field, you will notice that there is a line of three different pyramids.
The vast majority of pyramids constructed in Ancient Egypt were built during the Old and Middle Kingdom eras. The oldest known pyramid in Egypt is that of Djoser which was built between 2630 and 2610 BC. Most pyramids were built as tombs to remember departed pharaohs and their consorts. Today, somewhere between 113 and 138 pyramids are still standing in Egypt. Among them, the Pyramid of Khufu at Giza is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World that is still standing today. One can imagine that this powerful Egyptian Dragon was tasked with guarding these pyramids and the tombs of pharaohs to protect the honor and wealth of the pharaoh buried within.
Common Reverse
All of the 1 oz Silver and 1 oz Copper World of Dragons The Egyptian Rounds in the series share the same design element. Throughout the collection, the piercing eye of a dragon is featured in the center of the reverse. The eye peers directly at you as you hold the round, almost slicing right through your soul with its powerful gaze.
Details of The Egyptian Round Release
The sixth and final issue in the World of Dragon Series, The Egyptian round is available in either 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver or 1 AVDP oz of .999 pure copper. In both cases, you can purchase the rounds with individual plastic flips, mint tubes of 20 rounds, or Monster Boxes of 500 rounds with a total of 25 tubes inside of the box. All of the rounds in this release were produced by the Golden State Mint for Provident Metals. As with the other rounds in the World of Dragons collection, there is no mintage cap on The Egyptian release. Instead, the rounds will be minted for a short period of time and then coining will cease. At this point, once the rounds are sold out the design will not be available again.
Limited Window to Complete Your Collection
The World of Dragons collection launched with The Aztec design and was followed, in order, by The Welsh, The Chinese, The Norseman, and The Indian prior to the release of The Egyptian. While the Aztec, Welsh, and Chinese dragon designs are sold out and not in production, you still have a small window of opportunity to grow your collection with the purchase of our remaining Norseman and Indian designs.
