Introduced in the fall of 2022, the Emoji Series has continued into 2023 with two new designs available so far in the new calendar year. The collection launched with the commonly used Smiley Face emoji from digital keyboards. After getting festive at the end of the year with Snowman and ringing in 2023 with the Party emoji, the series is trying to shake off the winter blues in favor of springtime fun, but the latest design isn’t impressive. The Frowny Emoji now features as the fourth design in the collection.
Still Feeling Down
The obverse side of the 1 oz Silver Emoji Frowny Round at Provident Metals comes with a clean, simple design that expresses disinterest, at best or outright sadness at worst. In this design, the eyes look to the side as the brow is furrowed and the mouth is downturned. Like other issues in the silver round series, the designs, and field have contrasting proof-like visuals that include frosted elements and mirrored elements.
Emoji Series Reverse
With each design in the Silver Emoji Frowny Round, the common design element continues to grace the reverse field of the rounds. The design shown here offers more than 40 individual emojis, including some familiar faces in the form of the Snowman and Party emojis that have already been featured on the obverse in this series. Inscriptions on this side of the round include EMOJIS and ONE TROY OUNCE 999 FINE SILVER.
Emoji Series Collection
In the Emoji Series collection, the silver rounds come with 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver and are offered individually in plastic flips or by multiples of 20 rounds in acrylic tubes. Each round has a combination of proof-like visuals that help create an impressive finish. The designs in this series have no mintage cap, but the production is limited overall. Each design is struck for only a few weeks before the next design in the series is approved and ready for production.
Is it Spring Yet?!
After another long winter, the joy and festivity of the Snowman and Party Emojis obviously weren’t enough to keep the good times rolling. Spring is here, but the Frowny Emoji certainly isn’t impressed yet. The Frowny Emoji is undoubtedly associated with sadness, but it is more flexible than that. Whether your dad just texted you a dud of a dad joke or your friends suggested a lame outing for the weekend, the Frowny Emoji is there to help you show that you’re sad, disinterested, or otherwise unimpressed.
