Fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise are getting excited for the fifth movie, entitled Dead Men Tell No Tales. Since the movie has a release date of May 26, we’ve decided to do a pirate-themed giveaway for the month of May!
Many of you are familiar with the eccentric antics of Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp. In Dead Men Tell No Tales, Sparrow returns to face an old nemesis named Captain Armando Salazar. He controls a crew of ghost pirates who have escaped from the Devil’s Triangle, with a mission of killing every pirate at sea…including Jack. Sparrow’s only means of survival is to find the legendary Trident of Poseidon, which gives its owner control over the seas.
Captain Jack Sparrow is no novice when it comes to tracking down the seemingly impossible. Through the first four movies, we’ve watched him hunt for his ship (called The Black Pearl), the Dead Man’s Chest, an ancient goddess with the power to defeat Davy Jones, and the Fountain of Youth. Not to mention, good ‘ole Jack is always searching for more rum!
Director Joachim Ronning has said that Dead Men Tell No Tales is only the beginning of the final adventure in the series, so we may still get one or two more movies before the Pirates of the Caribbean is complete.
As we patiently (or impatiently) await the debut date, let’s give away a piece of silver! Entering Provident’s May giveaway is easy. All you need to do is leave a comment below and tell us your favorite moment of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, or another pirate story if you’d prefer. One winner will be randomly selected on May 19, 2017 to receive a Yeager 1 oz Poured Silver Skull. Leave your comments by May 18, 2017 at 11:59 PM to be entered to win.
May the winds of fortune blow in your favor!
Just an all-around good movie, clean with plenty of action and a little humor to keep things fun.
“I love those moments. I like to wave to them at they pass by.”
“Look what I’ve got!
I got a jar of dirt! I got a jar of dirt! I got a jar of dirt! And guess what’s inside it!”
– Capt. Jack Sparrow
I liked the one where the migit fire,s he,s blunder buster and the recoill blows him back like 10 feet or more and nocks a bunch of hie,s comrads down, pritty funny!
The over the top make up and costumes of Davey Jones and his crew.
I really liked the Isla Cruces Wheel Fight in Dead Man’s Chest. It was over the top, but the choreography was still awesome.
Yo ho ho and a bottle of…..Bacardi?
The fight between ships while in the whirlpool!
Thanks for the chance.
Shiver me timbers a chance for free silver!!!
Can’t choose just one, sooo many! Among the great quotes, I love, “I think we’ve all arrived at a very special place. Spiritually…Ecumenically…Grammatically.”
When Jack Sparrow meets Davy Jones !!!
I enjoyed the innovative thought of walking underwater with an upturned rowboat providing oxygen; entirely unrealistic, but a clever bit to place in the movie.
Unfortunately, I find each sequel to be a little less interesting, and I believe the 1952 “Blackbeard, the Pirate” movie to be about the best pirate movie ever made (and I think it may have been the inspiration for the Jack Sparrow series).
Silver is at an all time low. Buy it now. Go Reedley Pirates
“I am the very model of a modern major general!”
The Pirate Movie was one of the greatest of it’s time =)
My favorite scene is in the original where Jack and Elizabeth are on drunk on the island!
I liked the love the missionary and the mermaid had for each other, to sacrifice their lives for one another.
“Leave the gun, take the cannoli’s…” wait a minute! That’s from the Godfather… well Jack Sparrow is the “Godfather of all Pirates!!!”
Arrgh Mateys! Fire at will!
Sir, which one be Will?
How many times will the new Davy Jones get to spend quality time with his sweetheart before he needs Viagra?
What the heck was that big spinning thing Capt.Jack rode on? Different movie but when it squished everybody in front of the wardrobe, it was hilarious!
I guess this comment won’t win me anything but negative replys so, here she goes: I hate the Monkey! There, I said it so bring it.
Regards, DrWho7
Men! Fire at will!!
Sir, which one be Will?
Jack Sparrow, my favorite pirate of all!
Nothing better than a pirates treasure!
I like the sword fight scene in the first movie with orlandos character it sets up for a good “swift” movie.
I like the pirate series, but, there is one other movie that I wanna mention, that I liked too. Cut throat island. About the female captain margone, played by a chick named gena Davis. That was a hell of a pirate movie. Through it all. Her own uncle (uncle dog) was trying to kill her over a cave full of treasure.
Forcing a Mermaid to walk on land at swordpoint.
I love me silver and gold!
